“Food of prayer” continuing from long ago
Every January 7th. A lot of people gather in the precincts of Sozenji before the sky brightens. Their purpose is “seven herbs porridge”. There are also a lot of coverage of TV programs and newspapers. On this day there is a legend that if you eat porridge with “seven herbs of spring” it will not be all sick, many believers eat it. Everyone who visits can eat free of charge. At the same time, there are also many people asking prayers that wishes will come true (fee).
